2004 Digital Ortho Imagery for Idaho Acquired Under the National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP)

NAIP 2004 Home

The NAIP (National Agricultural Imagery Program) acquires digital ortho imagery for agricultural areas during the agricultural growing seasons in the continental U.S. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Service Agency (FSA), in cooperation with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), invited the State of Idaho and other partners to participate with the collection of natural color, digital ortho imagery for 2004 for all land in Idaho. This partnership will provide new digital imagery for the state enterprise GIS framework layer benefiting Idaho agriculture, public safety, transportation, and other users of spatial data

What data are available?

Preliminary compressed county mosaics (CCMs) are available for all counties in Idaho. All data are in UTM projection, NAD83 datum in MrSID format. These preliminary data are adequate to determine FSA compliance. But, these preliminary data sets will be reviewed and may be updated if it is determined they do not meet specifications. Users are cautioned that these data are preliminary and subject to change.

Final, uncompressed GeoTIFF images in UTM/NAD83 are available for 6517 3.75' quadrangles.

Compressed quadrangle mosaics (CQMs) were created by the Idaho Department of Water Resources from the final GeoTIFF image.  They cover 30' x 60' USGS quadrangles and are in a MrSID format.

How can the data be acquired?

The data are available online for download. Additionally, due to the size of some of the mosaics, the data may be acquired offline [some mosaics approach 500MB].
